rough grade Rough Grade & Stucco Grade rough grade

Rough grade some would say is the most important grade an excavating contractor does. A lot has happened since the site was cleared and grubbed. With the house pad built, slab as been poured, rough plumbing has been completed, block and tie beam done. Digging the house footers and rough plumbing has left holes with fill dirt piled up (see Fig.10.1) all over the site. Slab pour block and tie beam construction has left concrete littered all around the house it ranges from broken pieces of block to large concrete over pours cleaned out from the concrete trucks and pumps. Left over piles of block sand has been left piled in front.

stucco grade

Before the builder has the lumber and trusses delivered he will call the grader to have a rough grade sometimes called a stucco grade done. Once the excavating contractor arrives at the building site he will start cleaning up the trash and backfilling trenches. We at Pataco trucking would use a skid steer loader with a laborer for this task. Grading the whole site paying close attention to cutting the fill down eight inches (see Fig.10.2) below top of slab. Doing so will allow all following trades to have a level working serves with no piles of trash to fall on. Also later on allow the air conditioner and pool equipment pads to be built and allowing the stucco to be applied far enough down not to need to be patched at the end.

Please keep in mind that we are from southwest Florida. So many methods and techniques described here will be from our experience working in Florida. Also equipment used. And are by know means the only way to do things.
